Our Team

The story of Triple R began when a tired music teacher gathered the courage to give her coffee shop crush her number during one of his shifts working as a barista. After many, many cups of coffee, they married and decided that just 2 months after their wedding was a fantastic time to dive head first into their shared dream: a family owned and operated coffee roastery residing on the edge of the Raquette River! They are passionate about showcasing the very best Organic and Fair Trade coffee beans that the world has to offer and also realize the necessity of keeping their products affordable and easily accessible. Visit their Wholesale page for inquiries on how Triple R can come to your own small business or order a bag today to try at home!

Seán Sarsfield

Not born, but raised, in our small valley where the wind hits heavy on the border line, Seán fell in love with this community at the same time he fell for coffee at the age of 15. Back then, he’d make his own stovetop espresso and froth milk with an old-fashioned whisk. He always dreamed of working at a cafe, and in 2016, that dream came true. Conversing and serving customers face-to-face over the past 8 years has given him an even deeper appreciation for and connection to all who call the North Country home. He’s now eager to pursue the next adventure on the horizon–roasting coffee while still making his customers smile.

Diana Sarsfield

When you call or email us at Triple R or stop by one of our stands at your local farmer’s market, you just might find yourself chatting with Diana! When she isn’t helping her husband, Seán, sell (and drink lots of) coffee, she is knee-deep in a music teaching endeavor or a pile of dirt in her garden. Diana’s love for giving people what they need, in the place that has become her home for her little family, fuels her passion for creating excellent coffee for your very own home!

“Our coffee is an extension of us. We handcraft each bag of beans in our local shop, in Norwood, NY, and plan our business right at our kitchen table. So, we hope folks feel as if they have a seat at our table when they drink Triple R at one of our wonderful, local cafes or from their favorite mug at home!”

Owners of Raquette River Roasters

We can’t forget to mention Old Yeller, our Diedrich Coffee Roaster, without which all of what we do at Triple R would be impossible. We couldn’t stop thinking about Old Yeller when we saw his listing, even though coming to work with us meant him travelling to the North Country all the way from Texas! He has been a delightful and trusty addition to the Triple R family and yields some pretty tasty coffee.
